next stop... PARIS!!!

Milan is officially over, and next stop is Paris... cannot wait to see what the French have in store for us this fashion week.

Roberto Cavalli was probably my favorite Italian collection this season. There is something about the stylish wanderer that gets to me. I know Gucci, Dolce and other brands have done it before, but I guess it's kind of refreshing to see all this stuff over again. The large scarves, the flowing fabrics, the fur trims (how could I not mention the animal skins...), the softly printed chiffon harem pants, and just the mixing of prints.   Maybe it's just because I've been gazing at collections with all-black-line-ups, or the super-slick-pant-suit look for too long, but this collection definitely earns a lot of points in my book.

I was also excited to see what Christopher Kane was up to at Versus, but I found the overall collection pretty underwhelming. The materials, or maybe just the way they photograph, were kind of cheap looking. The mini body-con dresses were nice, and very wearable, but it just didn't seem to have much variety between one dress and the other- maybe a slight change in color, or the amount of shoulder straps... but regardless, these were my top looks from the collection. The peep toe boots are a little reminiscent of Balencaiga SS'10, but I liked the bra-strap detailing on the dress in the center, and the jacket and dress silhouette is great- so Alaia.

Another collection that I seemed to have overlooked was one in London, Julien MacDonald. Those lace and chiffon lingerie-looking numbers... wow. Wouldn't mind slipping myself into one of those, but of course, I would never end up taking it off.

Was on the topic of the Beijing Zoo today, and my friend said he would never support organizations that were keeping animals in captivity, and I didn't even think much about it, but somehow these cruel words fell out of my mouth like verbal diarrhea: "Animals only belong in two places, either on me, or in captivity". Oops...

Came across this editorial for POP, featuring Lindsey Wixson. She's so adorable, there's also a Lolita-esque quality to her which makes me like her even more.

... must admit I've never been a fan of 42nd Street Times Square, but this makes me miss New York so much :(
