NY's FW continues... I consider hibernation

It's unbelievably cold in Hong Kong these days. No sun, no fun. I've endured the cold of winters in New York, but seriously, the cold in HK is equally painful. I wish I could just stay indoors and hibernate like a bear until the weather gets to around 20 degrees with some sun.

I have a small collection of magazine spreads at home, I just rip them up and put them in a file when I see something I like, so I never really recall which month or magazine it's from. But I think a couple of them are really old... but I think all of these are from Vogue China. Apologies for the lousy quality, I don't have a working scanner at home, so these are just taken with the Nikon.

black. fur. leather. gloves... irresistible.

Liu Wen in an amazing McQueen gown.

A beautiful YSL jacket, wish I could see more details, but I love the bottom detailing and the open sleeves.

Just thought this was a cool shot, long gown from Celine and fur collar by Marios Schwab.

One of these entries just wouldn't be complete without a show of a furry pet...

So fashion week continues in New York, I've been pretty busy preparing to head up to Beijing in a few days, and went to my kickboxing lesson, so I haven't had a chance to look through most of the shows.

Noteworthy ones so far...

DEREK LAM
A lot of spring shows found their inspiration from the American West, namely the barnyard Chanel show, but I thought the Fall collection of Derek Lam really embraced the imminent trend, and turned out to be a fantastic collection. All the details, from the long fringe bags and belts, to the safari-inspired jackets and dresses, to the blanket embroideries, all the way to those funny looking cowboy hats, were perfect, and not overdone. I've always been a fan of the Lam.

oh, and let's not forget, he threw some fur in here and there.

DENNIS BASSO
A designer synonymous with the use of fur... how could I not be a fan?
... wish I could wrap myself in any one of these to stay warm in Beijing.

I decided to channel my inner-Native-American today, and wear some color too... quite a rarity.
