laziness strikes

I've been a little lazy with the updates these past few days. And sick too... so all time not spent in class is either spent in bed or in front of the TV. I am slowly making my way through my Wong Kar Wai DVD box set, with simplified Chinese subtitles... don't want to waste all that I've learned in class hah.

So let's talk collections...
Alexander McQueen
It was sad to know that the pictures on style.com would be the last I will see of his designs, but at least the silver lining is that the line will continue. Each of the 16 looks were mostly hand draped by McQueen himself, and were inspired from the Dark Ages, instead of his last collection where  it was more of a reflection on the digital age- this goes to show McQueen can really do it all. RIP.

Chanel
... well I always wanted to know what the product of cloning a 5'10 skinny European girl with a polar bear would look like.
I must give Karl some credit though, after reading several reviews of the collection, I learnt that all the 'fur' was faux, and in fact, it was woven from tweed. The dresses in the finale were also knitted with silk tulle ribbon... that shit doesn't sound easy. The seamstresses at Chanel, I'm sure, had fun with that.
Apart from the head-to-toe fur looks, or the polar-bear-pants, some nice things came out of the Scandinavian ice-box of a runway...

Miu Miu
After last Spring's attack of the cute little prints and animals, and amazing mary-jane's... I was bound to be disappointed again. Prada's collection foreshadowed it... Ms. Prada was back to her old tricks at the Miu with the shift dresses, heavy embellishments, but no complaints from me other than the lack of interesting shoes.
